Week 10!
Wow week ten, One Hundred and eighty cups down! Only Eight hundred and twenty to go! This week colours took a prominent position in my photos. Early in the week 164 to 167 had a earthy colour theme. As I attempted to move away from the wooden textures in my house I started looking for colours and light to create a point of difference.
Then Moth (170) was created kind of by accident, this gave me the idea to create a butterfly from the two cranes. So I coloured two squares of white paper to create the patterns for the butterfly in 171. As you can see it turned out very well.
The rest of the week I continued with the subject of colour and light. 173 was created with foil christmas paper and then I placed the cranes on the back of the paper, the colours were made from the reflection of light from the television.
Saturday we were at Fullarton Markets and I was in a different site location. We met some lovely small business owners with some amazing work such as Fi on a Whim. Fiona makes some wonderfully different jewellery, and some of her work are the subjects in 175. I also visited one of my Karate students Mums who is the owner of Betassled she set up a stall in her front yard next door to the market, Megan produces handmade fabric necklaces. Make sure you check out their work you might find exactly what you are looking for.
Snowflake (176) was from the stall on the other side of us at Fullarton Markets. Two lovely ladies Sharene and Sally from The Wayward Closet, whom create some special things for your closet. Sally also breed cats, Russian Blues and Birmans.
This week I am having a much needed weekend off from the markets for Sean’s Birthday on Friday. Family BBQ on Saturday and on Sunday we have a Region 23 Karate Tournament where I will be assistin in running the tournament, supporting my many students who are competing and of course to compete myself.
The next market that you can bring your pet photos to for me to draw for you will be on the 5th April at Flinders st Market – 230 Flinders st, Adelaide in the boat shed.
Following that I will be at the Meadows Country Fair for Easter 18,19,20 & 21. I will definately be there on Saturday and Sunday sharing with Pam from A Bed of Roses, not sure about Friday and Monday this will depend on my energy levels.
Also in April Karta, Tuan and Blue Portrait will be on display at the Flagstaff Hill Rotary Art Exhibition. Which will be opening on Wednesday the 16th of April and running until the 26th of April at the Flagstaff hill Primary School. These artworks will be available to purchase from this exhibition.
